North Shore Healthcare starts move into HUB640

The renovated former headquarters of The Bon-Ton Stores Inc. in downtown Milwaukee is set to welcome its first new tenant, North Shore Healthcare.

North Shore Healthcare is moving operations from Glendale to 23,000 square feet on the second floor of Hub640, located at 640 N. Vel R. Phillips Ave. See the attached slideshow for a look at the newly renovated space.

North Shore Healthcare is the first new company to move into the building since Bon Ton Store moved out and sold the property in 2017 to Chicago real estate firm North Wells Capital LLC. North Wells and affiliate Urban Innovations Ltd. have made substantial interior renovations to update the building and prepare spaces for new tenants.

North Shore intends to start moving employees into the building on Monday. As with several other businesses opening new offices during the pandemic, the number of employees moving into the space will be limited at the start.

“We are looking forward to bringing our employees together safely in this invigorating new space,” said Sean Bailey, vice president of asset management. “While we are only bringing a small number of staff back initially to ensure a safe environment for everyone, we look forward to when we can have our full team together.”

Beyond building out the space for North Shore Healthcare, Hub640s owners have built a new shared amenity area on the second floor with conference rooms, a fitness center and an outdoor roof deck overlooking Zeidler Union Square park.
